Managing data is integral to my SAS and R programming activities. Regardless of platform, some things are common:

1. Your goal is to create datasets that meet the needs.

2. You hope the datasets will able to adapt over time.

3. You have to examine the data, clean or improve what is there.

4. You need to document and explain at the right level/balance.
